Moto Guzzi

Classic style, modern solutions,
first-rate electronics

Moto Guzzi V85 TT is a classic travel enduro. Yet despite this, it is also extremely up to date in terms of its electronics solutions, and, more importantly, is always connected. Two essential features in a bike that aims to support the rider in any travel situation, from a Sunday ride to an adventurous trip. The instrument cluster is the linchpin around which all implemented electronics systems rotate: the TFT digital display measures 4.3”, is high-luminosity, high definition and displays all journey information. As well as classic data such as speed, revs, distance covered and the time, it also displays the gear in use, air temperature, fuel level, average and immediate consumption, autonomy and the selected Riding Mode. The Moto Guzzi V85 TT instruments are always legible, as the panel background and colour of the characters change depending on the light, identified thanks to an integrated sensor. The outfitting also incorporates a USB port for the recharging of any electronic device, located to the left of the instrument cluster in a practical and accessible position. The system also provides for the possibility to install a second port under the seat.

Variable-section wide handlebar for maximum control

From the seat, the view is a satisfying one, as Moto Guzzi V85 TT boasts a beautiful variable-section aluminium handlebar that offers an effective lever arm for total motorcycle control in any situation. The controls, both with four-position adjustment, are partly concealed behind the pair of hand guards that ensure excellent levels of protection in case of adverse or cold weather. The switch blocks are elegant and easy to activate: making an impact on the left unit is the button that manages cruise control, the system that allows the rider to maintain a constant speed on long stretches of motorway, thus ensuring a relaxed ride. Once set, the cruising speed can be modified (in 2 km/h increments) by briefly pressing the button a few times or holding the button for longer for more significant variation.

Three riding modes for all riding conditions

Standing out to the right of the handlebar are the ride-by-wire accelerator and the block incorporating both the “mode” button, for the management of information and connectivity, and the engine ignition, the latter also used to change the riding mode. Moto Guzzi V85 TT has three available modes, Road, Rain and Off-road. This means the rider can select the most appropriate riding mode depending on weather conditions and the route in question. “Road” mode is designed for a fun and flowing ride, the throttle response direct, traction control set at a medium level and ABS active at both wheels. If the “Rain” mode is selected, ideal when the asphalt offers limited grip, traction intervention is at a max, ABS controls both wheels, and the twin's throttle response is very gentle. As the name suggests, the “Off-road” mode is designed for off-road routes. Traction control is set to a minimum, so as not to overly limit riding where there is acceleration on surfaces offering no grip (mud, stones, rock…); ABS is only active at the front wheel, in order to be able to lock the rear and therefore stop the vehicle regardless of the level of grip; throttle response is extremely soft in order to manage any wheelies. With Moto Guzzi V85 TT, the electronics are an integral part of a project designed to maximise enjoyment and safety in all conditions.

Maximum connectivity with the Moto Guzzi MIA app

With Moto Guzzi V85 TT, electronics go hand in hand with connectivity. The kind of connectivity that allows riders to manage their smartphone while travelling and also use it as a GPS for navigation. Known as Moto Guzzi MIA, the system exploits a multimedia platform that allows a rider to connect a smartphone to the bike via an ECU available as an accessory. In doing so, instrument functionality is boosted and additional information can be viewed. Once a phone is connected to Moto Guzzi V85 TT via Bluetooth, the Moto Guzzi MIA multimedia platform allows for the use of voice commands and the management of incoming and outgoing calls and music playlists. All this is done using the handlebar controls and by following the instructions that appear on the TFT panel. And that's not all! Moto Guzzi V85 TT has travel in its DNA, an innate desire to discover distant lands. Thanks to Moto Guzzi MIA, it is possible to activate the navigator on your smartphone, select a destination and start the trace that will be displayed on the instrument cluster in the form of pictograms (easy to interpret stylised symbols). Reaching your destination thus becomes even quicker and easier. Because Moto Guzzi V85 TT wants its rider to travel far and wide... with total peace of mind.
